Team ASGRA Cornhole Season Opener Delivers a Nail-Biting Finish
March 26, 2026 - Team ASGRA aka Cowboy Sacks had their first game of the Cornhole season at Freddie's Beach Bar. The competition started as a slow, strategic battle, with both teams trading single points and frequently canceling each other out. Neither side could build much momentum early on.
Midway through the match, the Cowboy Sacks began to pull ahead. With the score climbing and just three points separating them from victory, it looked like they might close things out comfortably.
But their competitors, the Corn Stars, had other plans.
In a clutch moment, they landed two consecutive sacks in the hole, sparking a late surge that brought the game to a dramatic 20–20 tie at the end of regulation.
Overtime raised the stakes even higher. Ric—better known as Destiny B. Childs and recognized as IGRA and ASGRA royalty—teamed up with Duke to take the boards. Both players missed their first throws, keeping the tension high. On his second attempt, Ric delivered, landing a clean shot in the hole and putting the pressure back on the Corn Stars.
However, the Corn Stars answered right back, landing a sack of their own that canceled out Ric’s point and kept the game alive.
With everything on the line, Ric advised Duke to play it safe and throw the final bag away. Instead, Duke went for it—and delivered. His toss landed perfectly on the top edge of the board, a shot the Corn Stars couldn’t match.
That single point sealed the victory for the Cowboy Sacks in a thrilling overtime finish.
If this season opener is any indication, it’s going to be an exciting year ahead.

ASGRA's August 16 - 17, 2025 Rodeo School Was Hot but Fun
18 registrants attended our our 2025 rodeo school in Newtown, PA, August 16 & 17. It was a little bit of a hot one as the registrants learned the 101 basics of rodeo competition.
Saturday featured lessons in saddling and tacking horses and learning and practicing skills in flag racing, barrel racing, pole bending. We split the registrants into two groups to ensure that each group had more individualized time and attention from our instructors. For those who were not on horseback Saturday, our instructors worked with them on calf roping on foot and goat dressing skills.
Sunday was instruction was in our steer decorating and chute dogging events. Registrants also got to practice more of their calf roping on foot sills with our dummy calf on wheels as well as doing some additional instruction and practice in goat dressing.
